Introduction

The William Penn University Cheerleaders are an energetic and spirited group of individuals that support and encourage Penn spirit. The Cheer Squad attends all home football games and basketball games as well as other community events and selected competitions!  The cheerleaders and dancers also attend a top residential camp each summer paid for by the university. The 2007-2008 team received many awards at NCA camp in Chicago as well as a bid to the National Championship!

Cheerleaders are eligible to receive athletic scholarships typically ranging between $2,000-$8,000 per year based upon need and other factors.  In addition to the scholarships, the university also supplies the spirit groups with work-out facilities, athletic trainers, several official uniforms, warm-ups, camp fees, and poms.  WPU cheerleaders also attend one of the nations' top residential camps each summer and are working towards becoming one of the most pretigious spirit programs in the state! The 2008-2009 team will be divided into a blue squad and a gold squad.

Achievement expectations set by the coaches include:
1) inspire athletic teams by creating an energizing and entertaining environment for the crowd;
2) maintain high quality performances at all events;
3) to represent William Penn Athletics with dignity, pride and professionalism at all times; and
4) have lots of fun!

If you would like more information about WPU Spirit Squads, please contact coach Kristin by phone at (573) 579-7047 or email at libbyk@wmpenn.edu for more details.
